We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Outpatient Team! We are looking for a friendly, flexible and motivated Outpatients Manager to manage our forward-thinking Outpatients Departments based in William Harvey Hospital and Kent and Canterbury Hospital. You will work closely with our fantastic nursing team and consultants. You will play a key role in supporting patients who access our consultant‑led clinics, minor surgery, clinical procedures and pre‑operative assessment services. Our department delivers high‑quality care across a broad range of specialties including Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Paediatrics and General Surgery.
Responsibilities
* Lead an expert team of clinicians who provide safe, high‑quality, and compassionate care to patients across multiple specialties.
* Support and assist clinicians in running outpatient clinics and minor surgical procedures.
* Work collaboratively within a large, multidisciplinary team to maintain smooth and efficient patient flow.
* Contribute to service improvements and act as a positive role model, upholding our CREATE values at all times.
* Support the senior management team to lead the governance agenda for the departments and further develop services.
Working Hours
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week across a 7‑day working rota. The department operates Monday to Saturday between 8:00 am and 8:30 pm. Flexibility to work a variety of day shifts is essential.
Qualifications
* RGN Level 1.
* Teaching and assessing in clinical practice or equivalent.
* Proven post registration experience.
* Outpatient management experience.
* Outstanding leadership skills with experience in a clinical senior post.
* Knowledge of compliance with CQC regulations.
* Proven ability to review, develop and implement OPD services.
* Experience of budget management.
* Experience of producing management reports.
* Experience in surgical pre‑assessment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* IT competence.
* Experience in developing policies and procedures.
* Clinical leadership and team building skills.
* Commitment to professional development.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Management of clinical risk.
* Supportive to staff and committed to staff development.

Working Locations
The role is based mainly in Ashford and Canterbury, with occasional travel to other sites such as Margate or Deal.
