Overview
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our IS team at Booker. In this role, you’ll help us deliver digital systems that are reliable, secure, and easy to use — all aimed at making life better for our customers and boosting the business.
Day to day, you’ll be working on projects and changes across the team. You’ll support our IT Managers by figuring out what the business really needs, digging into how things work now, and suggesting how they could work better. This means investigating and analysing processes, documenting requirements, and turning them into clear, practical specifications. You’ll also team up with other areas of the business to design and develop solutions, and you’ll be the kind of person who enjoys solving tricky problems when they pop up.
Responsibilities
* Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
* Investigate and undertake feasibility studies of business functions across the company to understand service provision and interdependencies.
* Work with operational and technical teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible and align with business goals.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements.
* Act as a liaison between the IT department and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives.
Qualifications
* Experience of supporting business change through the application of a range of business analysis techniques.
* Ability to use office ICT systems (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
* Experience of business process re-engineering and design including process testing and user acceptance testing.
* Experience of using testing and issue management tools such as Jira.
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
* Good people management, with proven ability to effectively work with internal and external teams.
