You’re a confident people manager with a strong background in laboratory operations and quality systems. You're hands-on, proactive, and committed to high standards in safety, performance, and customer delivery.
Key Requirements
* HND or degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant scientific discipline
* Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and UKAS requirements
* Previous experience managing lab teams and workload
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
* Flexible, organised, and able to work under pressure
* Confident in client-facing environments
About The Opportunity
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day lab operations, ensuring technical quality, supporting staff development, and maintaining safety and compliance. You’ll act as the site’s UKAS Quality & Technical Manager and play a central role in supporting Intertek’s wider growth goals.
Key Activities
* Manage lab team performance and development
* Oversee sampling, analysis, and reporting
* Maintain compliance with ISO 17025 and client protocols
* Lead audits, quality reviews, and internal training
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments
* Champion QHSE procedures and continuous improvement
