About the role

Balfour Beatty has a fantastic opportunity for a Highway Maintenance Ganger to join our Living Places team in Lincolnshire—helping us keep communities safe, connected and moving.

As a Highway Maintenance Ganger, you'll lead a small team delivering a wide range of essential highway maintenance tasks. Every day will be different. You'll be hands‑on, problem‑solving on site and making sure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

What you'll be doing

* Promote a strong Zero Harm culture and embed our 4 Golden Rules
* Lead your gang to deliver safe, high-quality, on‑time work
* Work closely with the Agent/Supervisor and ensure all briefings and permits (Site Assist) are in place
* Capture quality through BIM 360 Field on an iPad
* Read and work from technical drawings and specifications
* Engage with clients and supervisors to ensure work is delivered correctly
* Report Close Calls, Good Practices and safety observations
* Select the right work methods and use plant and materials effectively
* Organise and control materials on site
* Support emergency and winter service operations (including out‑of‑hours when required)
* Represent Balfour Beatty positively to customers and the public

Who we're looking for

Essential:

* Full UK driving licence
* Strong focus on Health & Safety
* Pride in workmanship
* Honest, reliable and committed
* Flexible approach to overtime or shift patterns

Desirable:

* EUSR Levels 2–5 (excavation)
* Confined Space Training
* Highway Maintenance, Groundworks or Construction experience
* Class 1 or 2 LGV licence
* NRSWA certification
* CSCS Highway Maintenance
* Driver CPC
* NVQ Winter Service
* Telehandler training
* Vacuum excavation experience
