Role Overview
The DT Technician will provide essential technical support across Design & Technology disciplines including Resistant Materials, Product Design, and Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons
* Maintaining machinery and workshop tools
* Conducting routine safety checks
* Managing stock control and ordering supplies
* Supporting teachers during practical sessions
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Assisting with risk assessments
* Maintaining workshop organisation and cleanliness
* Supporting GCSE coursework preparation
* Monitoring equipment servicing schedules
This role requires strong practical knowledge and attention to safety.
Design & Technology Department
The department delivers KS3–KS5 courses and benefits from well-equipped workshops and CAD facilities. The technician is central to maintaining safe and effective practical learning.
