Newstaff Employment is hiring a reliable HGV 2 Refuse Driver in Stevenage to support local waste and recycling collections. This is a great opportunity for a hardworking driver who enjoys outdoor work, values teamwork, and takes pride in keeping communities clean and tidy.

Salary: £17.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities
1. Safely operate HGV 2 vehicles on planned refuse collection routes.
2. Collect and transport waste and recycling materials from residential and commercial sites.
3. Work closely with loaders to complete collections safely and efficiently.
4. Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after each shift.
5. Report defects, damage, or maintenance issues promptly.
6. Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
7. Keep accurate records of collections, mileage, and vehicle use.
8. Provide a professional and helpful service when dealing with residents.
Essential Skills & Experience
9. Valid HGV 2 (Class 2) driving licence.
10. Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
11. Previous experience as an HGV 2 Driver, ideally within refuse or waste collection.
12. Strong understanding of road safety and waste management regulations.
13. Safe and confident driving skills with a good driving record.
14. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
15. Good communication and customer service skills.
16. Physically fit and able to complete manual handling duties when needed.
17. Flexible to work early starts and changing shift patterns.
