About the Role
π Location: Walthamstow, Greater London
π· Salary: Up to Β£54,000 (dependent on experience)
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food Safety & Quality Systems Manager to manage a team of Quality Auditors and ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, and environmental hygiene across site. π
This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving compliance with statutory regulations and company standards, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise product quality and operational performance. π
You will play a critical role in maintaining effective quality management systems, influencing site teams, and ensuring best practice is embedded throughout the operation.
Key Accountabilities
π₯ Lead and manage a team of 2 Quality Auditors, driving performance, engagement, and development
π‘οΈ Provide expert guidance on food safety, legality, quality, and hygiene standards

Ensure quality management systems, processes, and controls are implemented and followed
π€ Work closely with the Central Technical Team to implement and share best practice
π Support compliance with statutory regulations and company standards
π§ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reduce costs
π§© Support NPD and EPD launches, ensuring compliance with product specifications
π¨ Manage food safety incidents and escalate where required
π Lead and support audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
π’ Build strong stakeholder relationships to influence and maintain high standards
π Deliver training and coaching on food safety and compliance
π Deputise for the Regional Technical Manager when required
About You
You are a proactive and confident leader with a strong technical background in food manufacturing, capable of influencing teams and driving high standards.
Essential Requirements
π§ͺ Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in a Technical or Hygiene role
π Graduate calibre (Food Science, or equivalent)
π¨βπ« Proven leadership and team management experience
π§ Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
π Ability to train and coach on food safety and compliance
π¬ Excellent communication and stakeholder management
π High attention to detail, even under pressure
π Passion for quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Desirable
π Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
π Knowledge of baking processes

Level 3 HACCP
