What we are looking for:

We are seeking a high-calibre HS&E Business Partner (Projects) to operate as a strategic safety leader within our cross-functional teams. Your primary role is to partner directly with AG Barr project engineers and site management to ensure the seamless, safe delivery of high-value strategic capital projects.

You will partner directly with project engineers and site management teams to ensure the safe delivery of these initiatives while maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legal requirements, company policies, and external certifications.

This isn't just about monitoring compliance; it's about integration. A partnership approach is essential to support project success while driving a culture of continuous improvement across all our manufacturing sites and warehouse functions. You will be the bridge between technical engineering and safety standards ensuring every member of our team goes home safe every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

As a vital contributor to our QSE Team, you will redefine how safety is built into our infrastructure:

* Strategic Project Delivery: Lead safety efforts within cross-functional workstreams, principal contractors (PC's), principal designers (PDs) and suppliers to identify, remove, or mitigate all relevant H&S and Environmental risks during the lifecycle of capital projects.
* Standards & Best Practice: Collaborate with the Head of HS&E and project engineering teams to define and document company standards in line with industry best practices.
* Performance Coaching: Proactively improve site HS&E performance by providing hands-on training, coaching, and the development of critical site documentation, including complex risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Legislative Insight: Keep the business ahead of the curve by analysing changes in legislation and external certification standards, then advising stakeholders on their potential implications.
* Audit & Inspection Leadership: Lead internal and external audits across the group, proactively identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring remedial actions are closed out.
* Cultural Transformation: Implement high-impact communication campaigns and training programs to foster an engaged, proactive HSE culture among all employees.
* Root Cause Investigation: Support site teams with incident investigations, ensuring a deep dive approach to identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions.

What You'll Bring

You will be a seasoned professional with a unique blend of safety expertise and project management discipline:

* Professional Experience: Degree-level education with at least 5 years of experience in an HS&E role, preferably within a manufacturing environment (Food & Drink industry experience is a strong preference).
* Proven Project Leadership: You must demonstrate a track record of success as a HS&E Lead on Strategic Capital Projects, overseeing safety from initial design through to commissioning.
* Project Management: Ideally, you hold a formal Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM), allowing you to speak the language of engineers and manage project timelines effectively.
* Professional Qualifications: You are NEBOSH qualified (minimum NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) and possess working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
* Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of all relevant H&S and environmental legal requirements and external certification standards, including DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER and Fire Safety
* Lead Auditor Status: You are a trained Lead Auditor in both ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
* Professional Membership: You hold active memberships in both IOSH and IEMA.
* Soft Skills & Systems: You possess strong relationship management skills, a proven ability to lead change, and robust IT literacy including supporting colleagues in the use of reporting systems like our HSMS INTELEX.

Why Join Us?

You will be joining a company that values safety as a core pillar of its operation.

* Meaningful Impact: You won't just be maintaining systems; you will be a key contributor to the development of our HSE management systems as they relate to future-facing capital projects.
* Collaborative Spirit: You will work as part of a highly skilled QSE team, partnering with expert project engineers to drive excellence in a multi-site environment.
* Strategic Visibility: Reporting directly to the Head of health, Safety and Environment Manager, your work will have high visibility and a direct impact on the safety performance of our entire manufacturing and warehouse network.
