We are currently on the lookout for a Bodyshop MET Technician to join our team at Snows Accident and Repair Centre based in Southampton.
Your day
The Bodyshop MET Technician is part of the Strip and Fit Mechanical function and is responsible for the stripping out and re‑fitting of all parts required to carry out repairs to damaged vehicles.
Your day will include:
* Stripping cars as per the job card instructions/workshop instructions
* Liaising with other team members to ensure the workflow is continuous
* Checking new part list whilst stripping
* Researching stripping methods when not sure of correct procedure
* Liaising with Workshop Controller/Estimator regarding extra parts needed
* Completing quality checks worksheet whilst carrying out the job
* Carrying out air con re‑gas/geometry/light alignment
* Checking the locks/lights/electrics as per the quality check sheet
* Reporting warning lights to Workshop Controller
* Cleaning up work/storage area and ensuring the paint and equipment is working correctly and reporting any faults immediately to management
* Supervising members of the team as they carry out their roles
* Liaising with other departments as necessary.
Have you got what it takes?
* Previous work experience as a MET Technician/Strip Fitter within a busy body shop
* Technical qualifications as a MET Technician/Strip Fitter (i.e., NVQ / VCQ / SVQ / ATA)
* Full Driving Licence
* Able to plan, organise self and meet agreed work deadlines
* Able to communicate effectively with team, manage external relationships and customer relationships.

Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:30 (with half an hour for lunch)
