Job Summary: Trapeze ITS is looking to appoint an experienced Production Operative on a 12 months Fixed-Term contract. In this role, you will assemble, test, and finish cable and harness products to defined specifications, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency throughout the production process. This role is critical to maintaining high standards for ITS hardware installations and supporting operational growth. Job Description: Key Responsibilities Cable Assembly & Production Read and follow detailed build plans, wiring diagrams, and SOPs. Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and automated equipment. Assemble cable looms and harnesses to meet customer and regulatory specifications. Quality Control & Testing Conduct visual inspections and functional tests on cable assemblies. Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers) and electronic test equipment to verify compliance. Record test results and maintain accurate production documentation. Health & Safety Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and safe handling of goods. Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free work area. Report any unsafe conditions or near misses immediately. Continuous Improvement Identify and suggest process improvements to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Support lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in problem-solving activities. Collaboration Work closely with the Production Team Lead and Production Manager to ensure smooth workflow. Assist in training new operatives and share best practices. Skills & Qualifications Essential: Ability to read and follow technical drawings and wiring diagrams. Manual dexterity and attention to detail for small component assembly. Basic understanding of electrical principles and cable types. Good communication and teamwork skills. Preferred: Previous experience in cable assembly or electronics manufacturing. Competence in using crimping tools, soldering equipment, and test instruments. Education & Experience Minimum: GCSEs or equivalent. Desirable: NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical or Manufacturing disciplines. On-the-job training provided.
