Disability Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with disabilities in their learning and personal development? GSL Education are looking for a Disability Teaching Assistant to join schools in Blandford Forum, providing essential one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
About the Role:
As a Disability Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with physical or learning disabilities are fully included in the classroom and wider school environment.
Responsibilities:
* Provide individualised support to pupils with disabilities, both in lessons and around school.
* Assist teachers in adapting learning materials and classroom activities to meet students’ needs.
* Support students with mobility, communication, or personal care when required.
* Monitor progress and report on student development to teachers and SENCOs.
* Promote inclusion, wellbeing, and positive behaviour in all school settings.
* Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to provide consistent support.
Requirements:
* CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a relevant degree (, Education, Psychology, Special Needs).
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with disabilities.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
