Join Birmingham Children’s Trust, a proud recipient of a 'Good' rating from Ofsted, as a Senior Social Work Assistant within our HUB 2 Children in Care services. This role is pivotal in supporting social workers to aid children in care and those involved in live care proceedings. You will be based in our newly refurbished offices in Birmingham, offering a supportive and welcoming environment. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
Responsibilities:
* Assist social workers in supporting children in care and those under live care proceedings.
* Complete statutory assessments and supervise family interactions.
* Advise children and families on available support and resources.
* Gather and document relevant information, taking necessary actions.
* Provide practical support through home visits and direct community work.
Requirements
Requirements:
* Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families in a support or advisory capacity.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and Children’s services processes and legislation.
* Proficiency in using various computer software and adaptable communication skills.
* Flexible approach to workload and ability to collaborate with local and wider teams.
* Ability to work autonomously, with high motivation and a task-centered focus.
* Strong team player with a child-focused approach, dedicated to building positive, long-term relationships.
* Must be a car driver.
