Solution Architect - Network

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solution Architect to join the Networks Team, within the Group IT function. You will be based between Derby and Solihull, on a hybrid working arrangement.
As a Solution Architect, you will work with the Networks Team to provide expertise in the design and implementation of network roadmaps. You will excel in this role with hands-on experience and extensive knowledge and understanding of:
1. Cisco products including routing / switching, Firewalls, VPN, IDS, Load balancing, Wireless, ACS /ISE, F5 Big-IP.
2. Network environments and sound application of architectural best practice (e.g. TOGAF).

What you will be doing:
With this attractive opportunity, you will get a chance to:
3. Own the service design principles across the supply chain and ensure that what is designed meets the business service needs.
4. Define the Rolls-Royce service solution standards (service solution architecture).
5. Review & support development of Solution Architectures and Technical Architectures to assure they have been designed for availability.
6. Mandate and Govern alignment of Service Management processes to deliver end-to-end services and service Levels to meet agreed business requirements.
7. Define & maintain delivery standards & continual improvement of Service Management processes.
8. Establish operational performance management across new Business Services/Solutions from all Supply Chain vendors including SaaS and BPO.

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:
9. TOGAF or similar qualification in IT Architecture.
10. Demonstrable IT architecture experience.
11. Demonstrable service orientated approach.
12. ITIL or similar qualification in Service Management.
13. Hands-on experience of service towers including compute, networking, storage, and database and cloud services.
14. Knowledge of recommended best practices and demonstrable experience for building secure and reliable service platforms solutions (on-premise, cloud, PaaS, SaaS, etc.).
15. Experience of working in both a service provider setting as well as a lead architect role would be highly favourable.
