In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the café, community hub and charity shop, working to make them welcoming and supportive places available for all. Working with the public means that no two days are the same; and as we are a small team, your willingness to be flexible and prepared to ‘roll your sleeves up’ is essential. In this role, you will: Research and assess the needs of the community; plan, design and implement programmes to meet their practical and spiritual needs. Manage the recruitment, development and ongoing support of staff, volunteers and work-experience placements. Ensure the day-to-day running of the centre is carried out in a safe, sustainable and ethical way. Establish and maintain links with the community and relevant external agencies to enable our provision of advice, signposting and facilitation of referrals. Encourage engagement with Church activities as appropriate. You will be able to demonstrate: Experience of developing community programmes for a diverse range of participants. A willingness to work within and be an enthusiastic advocate of our Christian ethos and values. Knowledge of applying and implementing Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies. Good working knowledge of software, particularly MS Office. The ability to work under your own initiative, prioritising your workload and that of the team as necessary.
