Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/CSA)

This leading engineering and construction contractor specialises in delivering complex mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Europe. With a strong reputation in the hyperscale data centre sector, the business continues to deliver some of the most technically advanced projects for globally recognised technology clients.
Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/CSA) to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Blyth. The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of a major data centre project, supporting financial performance from procurement through to final account.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Package Managers, Commercial Managers, and site teams to ensure costs are effectively managed, risks are controlled, and commercial objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle. This position would suit an experienced MEP, CSA, or multidisciplinary Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial and contractual expertise gained within large-scale construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of project delivery
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
• Lead subcontractor procurement activities including tendering, analysis, negotiations, and appointment
• Manage subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations, payments, and final accounts
• Monitor project costs and provide accurate commercial reporting
• Identify and manage project risks and commercial opportunities
• Support Project Managers and site teams with commercial advice and cost management
• Prepare and manage interim applications, valuations, and final account submissions
• Ensure all commercial documentation is maintained and contractually compliant
• Attend commercial reviews, project meetings, and stakeholder discussions
• Manage change control and variation processes throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and forecasting activities
• Proactively resolve commercial and contractual issues as they arise
Requirements
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• 8+ years' experience within a Quantity Surveying role
• Strong experience delivering large-scale construction projects
• Proven background in cost control, procurement, forecasting, and contract administration
• Strong knowledge of commercial management processes and construction contracts
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Strong financial and analytical capability
• Experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, or major construction projects would be advantageous
• MEP or CSA package experience highly desirable
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
