Overview
Senior Advisor - Future Agriculture - Environmental Land Management - 31666
Location: England (flexible/hybrid in England). Travel may be required. This role sits within the Environment Agency and contributes to the EA2030 strategy and government targets for water, the environment and climate.
Responsibilities
* Provide advice in meetings, manage commissions, deliver and oversee Programme milestones, and identify future risks and resource requirements for the Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT) and related ELM activities.
* Influence the design and delivery of incentives within the wider context of responding to government reviews affecting water, the environment, and economic growth and nature recovery through regulation.
* Work across multiple teams and organisations with senior leaders to articulate a scheme that supports and delivers outcomes.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of the ELM scheme through its design and delivery.
* Represent our expertise to Defra, delivery bodies and the agriculture sector to achieve consistency and better collaboration between organisations.

Experience/Skills Required
* Experience of Agriculture and working with Defra and other statutory bodies is essential.
* Politically aware with excellent communication and networking skills.
* Understanding of environmental sensitivities related to significant agricultural sector reform.
* Experience interpreting and evaluating evidence to propose risk-based solutions for challenging problems.
* Ability to prioritise and deliver complex work; a self-starter who actively develops and advances ideas.

Additional Information
* Location: EA Office base with national scope; hybrid working in England.
* Some travel/overnights required.
