Role Overview
We’re seeking a proactive and organized professional to engage and support the cross-government data community through a busy calendar of virtual and in-person events.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead on designing, delivering, and evaluating a key strand of the data community strategy, producing accessible content and narratives, and reporting to senior leaders in GDS.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders to align messaging and gain support for the six-point plan for public sector digital reform.
3. Collaborate with GDS and DSIT colleagues to ensure activities align with the community strategy, managing planning and support requests.
4. Deliver content, manage press and social media, and analyze audiences as part of the community strategy.
5. Organize and promote a calendar of virtual, regional, and London-based data events and meetings.
6. Enhance engagement within the data community and produce a monthly newsletter.
Person Specification
We are interested in candidates who:
* Have experience in planning and delivering community engagement activities using clear frameworks.
* Possess high-level writing and editing skills tailored to different content purposes.
* Have experience in planning and delivering engaging virtual and in-person events across large programs.
* Possess design skills and familiarity with digital marketing platforms, including filming and editing footage on smartphones.
* Have demonstrable experience in delivering and evaluating community activities.
* Can quickly understand complex policies and adapt accordingly.
* Thrive in creative, ambiguous, and innovative environments.
* Have experience managing diverse stakeholders with competing priorities.
