Job Description: Location is Blackpool with travel to Manchester Corporate Hub with frequent travel to other offices Government Property Profession Career Framework (Link) This role sits within the following: Job Family - Workplace & FM Core Role - Facilities Management Level - Practitioner Key accountabilities Establish professional relationships with a range of stakeholders to ensure an effective day to day customer interface, ensuring a quality service delivery and issue resolution. Operational oversight of all service delivery by Estates and their supplier partner network, investing time to develop a common focus and genuine positive team spirit to keep the whole team's efforts focused on the top priorities. Establish ways to find and respond to feedback from customers about the services provided, encouraging a joined up team work within own team and across the wider supplier partner network to resolve and maintain professional excellence. Manages and develop a clear strategy which provides a smooth handover from construction to operation and establish the handover procedures from projects into BAU, working with key stakeholders to set priorities, objectives and timescales. Attendance at appropriate onsite meetings to broaden knowledge of the Corporate Hub requirements, feeding knowledge or information into relevant Estates area as required to support customer insights eg. Demand/churn requests. Liaise with OGD and wider Estates departments to resolve any building services related operational issues. Contribute to the development and delivery of the estate strategy plan, making sound recommendations on behalf of individual projects to select the best value for money solutions for the delivery services on behalf of stakeholders and customers. Act as an escalation point for any issues, working with supplier partners to resolve and rectify as appropriate, in a timely manner. Manage DWP's Health & Safety, legislative and policy obligations and requirements taking resolution action on areas of non-compliance, remaining alert to emerging issues and trends which might impact your work area. Support nominated programme leads and ensure the delivery of building programmes/projects on time and budget, considering the impacts of own and team's activities on stakeholders and end users. Ensures that services are developed with strategies, policies and procedures in line with the operational requirements to ensure well managed and well maintained Corporate Centres/Hubs, in partnership with the Integrator Supplier Partner. Contributing to and approval of development and changes to operating processes in partnership with the Integrator supplier. Provide commercial assurance and support with challenge and advice to the relevant Estates colleagues by acting as a liaison point to ensure approval/steers are received relating to Corporate Hub buildings. Oversee supplier performances to assure full compliance with standards established, in support of the Performance & Audit Team. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed Hybrid Working This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post. Successful candidates will be posted in merit order based on your location preferences and the geographical requirements of the business Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience Experienced within a property profession discipline Commercial experience gained within the Property/FM division of a complex, matrix organisation Understanding of building condition and performance, and related contract and clause management Management of external suppliers/contractors who deliver a wide range of project activities, from design phase onwards Experience and understanding and knowledge of health & safety provision High level management of key suppliers in supporting negotiations, managing/escalating issues, and engaging in key decision making with strategic consequences Interpretation and analysis of data to inform decision making Understanding and complying with Real Estate and related Statutory, Regulatory and Professional requirements Qualifications/professional memberships Desirable Working towards AssocRICS with a preference if already held, or Working towards IWFM (Levels 4-5) with a preference if already held STAGE 1 - APPLICATION & SIFT As part of the application process you will be asked to provide a Personal Statement of no more than 1000 words against the essential criteria as outlined above. You will also be asked to provide a short CV. Your CV should be fairly short and just evidence very brief details of your work history and experience. Please do not submit a speculative application where you do not meet at least 50% of the essential criteria as these applications will be unsuccessful. Do not include Behaviour examples within your application as these will not be assessed in the sift and will only be used at interview stage. There will be an initial sift of applications based on the Personal Statement only, so please ensure you evidence how you meet the Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience requirement contained in the vacancy in this section. This will form a short list for interview. STAGE 2 - INTERVIEW All candidates who are successful at the sift stage will undertake a single virtual video interview. The interview will follow a blended approach which will help us assess candidates Behaviours and Strengths. You will also be asked an additional question to validate your knowledge which will be measured against the essential criteria as specified in the vacancy. Currently the sift is scheduled to take place w/c 7th & 14th July 2025 and interview dates w/c 28th July 2025. Interviews are scheduled to take place virtually and dates are subject to change due to annual leave.
