We are looking for a Workplace Engagement and Experience Coordinator to join our Employment and Careers team, who will be key in connecting education and business to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and future-focused work experience opportunities for young people across South Yorkshire. You will play a key part in SYMCA achieving our aims for South Yorkshire to be a region that provides inclusive growth and progression opportunities for everyone, enabling individuals and employers to reach their potential, achieve their goals, drive productivity and contribute to our economic success.

About the role
In this role, you will be working directly with schools and colleges, building meaningful partnerships to deliver modern work experience programmes across the region, helping to shape the future workforce for South Yorkshire.
Your work will involve:
* Lead work experience development across a caseload of priority schools and colleges.
* Support Careers Leaders to design inclusive and sustainable work experience (WEX) strategies aligned with local labour market needs.
* Provide tools and guidance to help institutions meet Gatsby Benchmark 6 through modern approaches like virtual experiences and project-based learning.
* Collaborate with educators to embed WEX into the curriculum and increase its impact.
* Use frameworks such as equalex and Compass+ to monitor quality and progression.
* Build strong relationships with school leaders and support Enterprise Advisers to meet institutional needs and maintain engagement.
About you
* Strong understanding of careers education (CEIAG) and the South Yorkshire region.
* Proven ability to engage with leaders in schools, colleges, and businesses.
* Experience managing multi-stakeholder programmes or projects.
* Skilled in stakeholder communication and relationship-building.
* Knowledge of school environments and careers education challenges.
* Awareness of local/national skills and employment policy.
* Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
* Desirable: Familiarity with equalex or similar quality frameworks.
* High personal drive, integrity, and resilience.
* Positive, flexible, and outcome-focused.
* Committed to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Proactive in managing risk and maintaining professional standards.
* A-level education or equivalent experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development.
