Overview
Glenburn Vets is a three-site first opinion practice with clinics in Crumlin, Glengormley and Lisburn. The team consists of 7 vets, 4 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 11 support staff. The practice is well-equipped, featuring ultrasound with cardiac and abdominal probes, a digital radiography system, cardiac scanning table top, fluid pumps, fluid warmers, patient warmers, multi‑parameter monitors, electrosurgery, suction, and an orthopaedic kit including TPLO, CCWO and MMP. Experienced vets and a nurse with a certificate in anaesthesia support a range of special interests to certificate level.
Role
Veterinary Receptionist – Part‑Time, Permanent – Location: Glenburn Vets, Crumlin.
Responsibility
As the first point of contact, you will:
- Manage appointments (booking, cancelling, rescheduling).
- Handle cash and card payments, insurance claims and instalment queries.
- Perform end‑of‑day banking procedures.
- Process clinic emails and paperwork, including lab reports, consent forms and vaccination documentation.
- Dispense medications and prescriptions.
- Maintain client and patient records, ensuring they are up‑to‑date.
- Control reception area stock, keeping counter‑sale products stocked and clean.
- Manage stock levels for food and special orders.
- Prepare puppy/new client packs and keep them stocked.
- Organise incoming and outgoing post.
- Keep the reception area tidy and presentable for the next working day.
- Greet and welcome all visitors professionally and courteously.
- Answer telephone calls and address client enquiries promptly.
- Promote Pet Healthcare Plans, pet insurance and promotional schemes.
