We are now looking for qualified, enthusiastic Nursery Assistants (minimum Level 3) to join our happy, professional team and help us continue making Tarnerland such a special place for children and families. About our setting Our nursery is located in the centre of Brighton, close to the beach and town, in a light and spacious building with extensive outdoor provision, including a large garden shaded by mature trees and overlooking the sea. Hours 34.5 hours per week Monday to Friday Shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm Stable rota of 2 long days and 3 short days All year round Salary and benefits £27,254 per annum to start (pro rata for 34.5 hours) Paid over 52 weeks per year As council employees, Tarnerland staff benefit from all employment protections and benefits offered by Brighton & Hove City Council, including: - salary linked to national pay reviews - a generous pension scheme - up to 27 days paid holiday per year, including Christmas closure and a one-week summer closure - 8 bank holidays - occupational sick pay and protected pay arrangements - clear, fair employment policies and procedures - access to local authority support services including payroll, pension advice and occupational health We are looking for someone who has: - a relevant childcare qualification (minimum Level 3 essential) - experience of working with children under five in an Early Years environment - a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) - practical experience of planning for and assessing children’s learning and development - a strong work ethic and commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team - secure knowledge of child protection and safeguarding Apply There is no fixed closing date.
