We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen and elevate our Tex-Mex offering while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality food production. The Head Chef will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, developing menus, and upholding the organisation's reputation for excellence in cuisine.
Duties
* Supervise and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and presentation
* Lead and motivate the culinary team to ensure high standards of food quality and service
* Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and standards
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen
* Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs effectively
* Train new staff members in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods
* Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and organise repairs as necessary
* Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and teamwork
Experience
* Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
* Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
* Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse group of staff members
* Solid background in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards
* Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, including serving in a leadership role
* Knowledge of kitchen operations, including inventory control and cost management
* Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
