2. Salary: £101.40 – £105 per day
3. Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:45am – 3:45pm), Term Time Only
4. Duration: Long-term temporary with the opportunity to go permanent

Milk Education is recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEN schools across Bolton, supporting children aged 4–16 with Autism and associated additional needs. This role is ideal for dedicated SEND professionals who thrive in structured, nurturing environments and have hands-on experience supporting pupils with complex learning and behavioural needs.
The Role
5. Supporting children aged 4–16 with Autism, ranging from low to high support needs
6. Working with pupils who present additional needs such as ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, communication challenges, emotional regulation needs and social interaction difficulties
7. Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual education and care plans (EHCPs)
8. Assisting in the delivery of structured routines to promote emotional regulation and engagement in learning
9. Supporting positive behaviour strategies and implementing therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
10. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and wider support staff to deliver personalised support plans
11. Supporting pupils during specialist interventions including Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and creative therapies
12. Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
13. Assisting with personal care, feeding and hygiene routines where required
What We’re Looking For
14. Proven experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar SEN support role
15. Experience supporting children with Autism and complex additional needs
16. A calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
17. Confidence working with challenging behaviour and understanding of de-escalation strategies
18. A strong understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice
19. Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
20. Commitment to consistency and long-term placement for the benefit of pupils
