HGV Driver/Workshop Operative required in Avonmouth region. Starting salary up to £17.65 per hour. 45-hour week Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm with half-hour unpaid lunch. Fantastic long-term career prospects with an award-winning commercial vehicle accident repair centre operating since 1991.Our client, the South West’s leading automotive accident repair specialist with over twenty-five years of experience, is currently looking to recruit a HGV Driver/Workshop Operative to work from their premises in Avonmouth. Reporting to the Centre Manager, as a HGV Driver/Workshop Operative your main duties will include: Collection and delivery of customer vehicles. This can be anything from trucks, trailers, vans, coaches, and horse boxes. The safe parking up and organisation of the yard – particularly so that access to the next job is made as easy as possible. Moving vehicles in and out of the workshops and from our client's trailer yard. Washing and valeting vehicles along with checking vehicles over before returning them to the customer. Ensuring that all company vehicles are regularly washed and kept clean and that all fluids, oil, lights, tyres etc. are also checked and maintained correctly. Helping recycle waste, plastics, paper, cardboard, and all recyclables along with sorting all other general waste into appropriate bins. Generally helping out and assisting colleagues where required and working as a team.To be eligible you will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of Avonmouth as well as having a Class 1 HGV driving licence with minimal points, and a full CPC card. Previous experience in a similar collection/delivery role or experience working with vehicles or in a similar workshop/yard operative role would be highly advantageous to our client however isn't essential as training is provided. Overall you will be logistically minded, a team player, organised, presentable, and a good planner with a thorough understanding of the South West region. What's in it for you?
