Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead Ref: 155471 Location: Wakefield College Salary: £33,202 to £35,224 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our Student Experience Team. This is a pivotal role which supports the Head of Safeguarding in ensuring that all students, especially those in vulnerable groups such as children in care and young adult carers are protected, supported and able to thrive in a safe and inclusive environment. You’ll play a key part in maintaining and developing our Safeguarding strategy, delivering staff training and ensuring our safeguarding practice meets the highest standards. As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you’ll liaise with external agencies, advocate for vulnerable learners and represent the Group in meetings such as Child Protection and Early Help reviews. You will be required to: Support the Head of Safeguarding in developing and implementing safeguarding policies and strategy Coordinate and deliver Safeguarding and Prevent training across the Group Conduct and oversee risk assessments for students presenting safeguarding concerns Liaise effectively with social workers, NHS services and other local safeguarding partners Act as the Designated Teacher for children in care, contributing to PEP and CiC reviews About you: You will be an experienced Safeguarding professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
