About the Role
At JSR Genetics Ltd, a subsidiary of Cranswick, we are a leading player in the UK's agricultural sector. We are dedicated to integrating traditional farming practices with modern, sustainable methods. We are seeking a keen individual to join our team as a Pig Stockperson at our farm in the Caistor area. Our farms are high health units within our finishing operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Feeding, moving and handling the pigs
* Loading and unload pigs as required by the unit's production system
* Ensuring that animal welfare is in accordance with Company policies (Red Tractor Assured Standards)
* Ensuring that the five freedoms in respect of animal welfare are followed
* Adhering to Company Codes of Practice and Policies at all times
* Ensuring that all Feed Systems/Water systems and all other equipment is in good working order and fixing faults and report any defects immediately to your Line Manager
* Reporting any site damage immediately to the Line Manager
* Understanding the importance of biosecurity and security of the unit
* Ensuring that the unit is always kept clean and tidy and presentable to visitors with regular pressure washing being essential
* Where applicable, ensuring all buildings and compounds are secured out of working hours
About You
* Experience with livestock or an agricultural background would be advantageous, but not essential
* Ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully with strong attention to detail is a must
* Self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, and strive to go above and beyond expectations
