Job Description Offshore Geotechnical Engineer Kingston upon Thames, London 12-month renewable contract As Offshore Geotechnical Engineer you will be responsible for planning, executing, and interpreting geotechnical investigations to support the design and installation of offshore structures, including wind turbine foundations, oil & gas platforms, subsea pipelines, and seabed installations. The role involves interpretation, data analysis, and foundation design/installation recommendations while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Responsibilities: · Plan Offshore site investigations by defining scopes of work and selecting appropriate sampling/testing methods (e.g., CPT, boreholes). · Analyse soil data to interpret lab results and derive geotechnical parameters like shear strength and stiffness. · Prepare Technical Reports, compile Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Foundation Design Reports (FDRs). · Support foundation design by providing input for piles, suction caissons and shallow foundations. · Perform Pile Analysis, calculate axial/lateral capacities and assess installation feasibility. · Assist Engineering Phases, contribute to FEED and detailed design stages with geotechnical expertise. · Ensure standards compliance following ISO, API, DNV codes and client specifications. · Manage Geotechnical Risks, participate in HAZID/HAZOP and review third-party deliverables. · Uphold Safety & Quality, align with Saipem’s HSEQ policies and maintain personal and team safety. · Coordinate & Collaborate with engineering teams and report findings to stakeholders. What are we looking for? Experience: 5-10 years in offshore geotechnical roles with pile & foundations design and installation activities Education: Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering or similar Technical skills: shallow foundations, pile installation, CPT interpretation, soil-structure interaction and geotechnical data interpretation. IT skills: Finite Element Analysis software (PLAXIS or ABAQUS)
