Dealership Accountant
Location: Stoke on Trent (with travel to regional sites) 40 hours per week with flexibility to suit
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum + benefits
An established and expanding automotive retail group is seeking an experienced Dealership Accountant to support the continued growth of one of its key franchises. This is a senior, commercially focused finance role offering real influence across multiple dealerships and close collaboration with operational leadership.
Based primarily in Stoke, the role also provides financial oversight and support to additional dealership sites in Crewe and Chester.
This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious dealership accountant looking to play a central role within a growing, forward‑thinking automotive business.
Key Responsibilities;
* Lead and manage dealership accounts and vehicle administration teams
* Ensure robust financial controls and processes are established, maintained, and continually improved
* Maintain strong balance sheet control and proactive management of working capital
* Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts
* Prepare and manage weekly cashflow forecasts
* Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
* Provide financial support and commercial insight to Heads of Business across sites
* Work closely with the Group Accountant and General Managers to support operational and strategic decision‑making
This senior role will involve financial responsibility for three dealership sites located in Stoke, Crewe and Chester - Travel across sites as required
Skills & Experience Required;
* Proven experience in a dealership accounting role within the automotive sector
* Strong people management experience, leading finance and administration teams
* Excellent commercial awareness and financial control skills
* Advanced Excel skills
* Experience using a dealer management system; Kerridge / Keyloop knowledge advantageous
* Confident communicator able to influence senior operational stakeholders
Remuneration & Benefits;
* Salary circa £70,000, depending on experience
