Clinical Assessment Nurse, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)

Responsibilities
* Support the operational management of the SDEC unit, including planning and delivering nursing care.
* Carry out the initial assessment of patients on arrival to the department and determine priority of medical assessment in accordance with clinical presentation.
* Identify appropriate patient pathways and ensure efficient utilisation of the service.
* Recognise deteriorating patients, administer necessary treatment, and escalates care appropriately.
* Assist the Unit Manager with staff management within the SDEC department.
* Maintain a patient‑centred approach throughout admission to discharge/transfers.
Welsh Skills Desirable
Level 3 speaking and listening skills at CEFR B2 or above are considered an advantage.
Qualifications
* NMC registration
* Relevant clinical assessment or diagnostic training
Experience
* Experience in Acute Medicine

* IV competent
* Venepuncture and cannulation
