Stirling Council's advice services offer extensive, independent guidance on money management, debt and welfare benefits to vulnerable citizens across Stirling. These services are provided through two main initiatives:
* Advice Stirling: Provides Money, Debt & Benefit advice and advocacy to Stirling citizens through a number of different projects.
* Forth Valley Macmillan Money Matters: This initiative focuses on income maximisation for individuals diagnosed with cancer and their families/carers.
Additionally, the team is a key local provider of digital inclusion services, aimed at enhancing people's digital skills.
The New Scots in Stirling Project was established in January 2021 and is a collaboration with the Resettlement Team and the Learning and Employability Team. The project is designed to support the increasing number of refugees in Stirling; and we strive to create an inclusive, welcoming community where everyone has the opportunity to achieve financial stability and independence.
This project consists of the following support:
* Resettlement Team: Provides support and guidance on settling in Stirling,
* Learning and Employability: Assists individuals with learning opportunities such as ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and helps identify employment opportunities.
* Advice Stirling: Assists individuals with income maximisation, welfare rights advice, budgeting support, guidance on the UK benefit system and debt advice.
* Digital Inclusion Programme: Helps individuals improve their digital skills and supports the introduction of digital services like E-visas and Universal Credit.
We are now expanding the project and are seeking an additional full-time Digital Inclusion Worker.
The Digital Inclusion Worker will support the growing number of refugees in Stirling, by helping them improve their digital skills and supporting the introduction of digital services such as Universal Credit and E-visas. In addition to refugees, you will also be supporting residents that are subject to immigration control that are new to Scotland. You will be required to utilise interpretation services regularly in person and via telephone.
This post is currently funded for 2 years and will report to the Senior Digital Inclusion Worker.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Level 1 Disclosure Scotland Check.
