Overview
This role will primarily involve delivering drainage and highway infrastructure designs for a wide range of new developments, varying in type and scale. You’ll work closely with project managers across the business, helping to meet and exceed client expectations. The role
* Develop technical highway and drainage designs to support S104, S38 and S278 applications.
* Undertake a variety of technical assessments for new developments.
* Explain technical concepts to others including more junior colleagues and clients.
* Check technical outputs, drawings and reports produced by junior staff.
* Prepare or supervise the preparation of presentations and present information to internal and external groups.
* Manage projects with moderate supervision ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to an excellent standard.
* Provide updates on the progress of tasks in line with programmes.
* Write reports and liaise with Clients / Project Managers on the management and co-ordination of projects.
* Ensure compliance with the relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in infrastructure engineering and construction.

What you need to succeed
* A degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* At least 2 years of experience in UK development-related infrastructure engineering.
* Demonstrate suitable knowledge of relevant design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, local road standards and relevant national planning policy.
* Be experienced in the preparation of highways and drainage design and in particular S38, S278 and S104 processes.
* Knowledge and application of drainage design from first principles and experience in the use of MicroDrainage and/or Causeway flow software.
* Have experience in writing flood risk assessments or drainage strategies for development projects.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and written skills.
* Be motivated, enthusiastic and committed to further developing your career in Civil Engineering.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
* Have basic skills or a good understanding of AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
* A full UK driving license, as the role may require you to visit sites only accessible by car.
