Senior Tax Analyst – EMEA Tax Department (AWS Cloud Computing Business)
Location: London or Luxembourg.
Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support the Amazon Web Services ("AWS") cloud computing business, focusing on corporation tax advisory. The role requires working independently while liaising with both the tax team and the wider AWS business as it expands its offerings and footprint within EMEA. The analyst will handle corporate tax matters including withholding, indirect, transfer pricing, and other tax areas across multiple jurisdictions, and may deal with ad‑hoc enquiries and audits.
Key job responsibilities
* Managing and coordinating tax requirements for country expansions and new program launches.
* Providing relevant tax guidance to the business while building relationships to ensure compliance.
* Supporting ad‑hoc projects such as restructuring or transactions involving the AWS business.
* Researching international tax issues and working with outside advisers as needed.
* Engaging with outside tax advisors to support tax projects.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi‑national corporate tax department.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant business qualification (e.g., Chartered Tax Adviser, ACCA, CIMA) or relevant experience/qualification with Tax Authorities.
* Demonstrable experience in indirect tax, preferably in the EU (advisory rather than compliance).
* Experience working in a business involved in multinational activities within an indirect tax function or financial/legal/accountancy firm.
Preferred Qualifications
* CPA, or J.D.
* Experience managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to understand processes and systems.
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment.
