The Opportunity: Legal Supervisor
As a Wills Legal Supervisor, you will oversee the professional output of a selection of Legal Advisors within our Wills branch network, ensuring that every clients wishes are reflected clearly and accurately in their legal documents. You will ensure ongoing adherence to our internal case progression framework and uphold strict compliance with file and document management protocols. You will play a key role in safeguarding our high service standards and regulatory responsibilities by holding weekly supervision meetings, assessing workload, providing technical support, and reviewing quality benchmarks. This role champions both client experience and legal excellence, ensuring every matter meets our service level agreements and reflects the Right Legal Group standard.
What Youll Do: Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide indirect leadership to Legal Advisors with less than one year of Right Legal Group experience, championing legal quality and development.
Collaborate closely with Branch Team Managers to drive consistent adherence to legal policy and supervisory frameworks across the network.
Lead by example as a subject matter expert in Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, ensuring guidance is practical, insightful, and client-focused.
Allocate and tailor workloads to match each advisors developing competence, gradually increasing complexity while encouraging autonomous thinking.
Recognise advisor milestones through regular feedback sessions that promote growth, constructive improvement, and high performance.
Act as a conduit between the frontline legal team and the Training Academy, ensuring skill progression is mapped, supported, and celebrated.
Legal & Compliance
Supervise 100% of the legal work produced by trainee advisors, who are working towards sign-off from the Training Academy, ensuring documents reflect client wishes with clarity and legal precision.
Maintain high attention to detail throughout the supervisory process to ensure completeness and accuracy within the RightWill framework.
Ensure all advice delivered by advisors is tailored, relevant, and in full alignment with the client's circumstances and legal needs.
Review case files and actions within the case management system to ensure legal tasks are completed efficiently and uphold the integrity of professional standards.
Uphold strict compliance with SRA regulatory requirements, embedding ethical conduct and best practice in every facet of legal delivery.
Support the upkeep and review of training records to demonstrate a balanced portfolio of legal experience and technical capability.
Operational Performance
Monitor advisor workloads proactively, ensuring they carry a fair and manageable volume of cases that support quality outcomes.
Collaborate with Branch Managers during advisor off-boarding to enable a smooth handover of matters and ensure no client task is left unresolved.
Support advisors to maintain momentum on case progression within expected timescales, keeping pace with supervisory workflows and SLAs.
Complete supervisory tasks on time and with precision to facilitate smooth branch operations and high levels of client satisfaction.
Work with team managers to identify opportunities for improved business performance, using supervision insights to drive better results for both the firm and our clients.
Identify training gaps within the team and liaise with the Training Academy to address departmental and individual development needs.
Key Competencies & experience
In-depth technical expertise in Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, with a strong understanding of estate planning legislation
You have STEP qualification desirable or a demonstrable commitment to progressing toward accreditation, supported by the business
