Legacy Leisure Facility Manager
Legacy Leisure operates five leisure facilities across the Vale of Glamorgan in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council. We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team as a Facility Manager overseeing three of these facilities, each recently enhanced through significant investments.
The Opportunity
Legacy Leisure is a well-established and growing business that values career development and invests in its staff. The facilities include:
* Barry Leisure Centre: features two gyms, two group exercise studios, a sports hall, main and learner pools, and recent refurbishments including a new spin studio and Strength Gym.
* Colcot Sports Centre: a dryside facility with a resurfaced 4-court sports hall and outdoor 7-a-side and 5-a-side 3G pitches.
* Llantwit Leisure Centre: includes a CV gym, studios, four-court sports hall, and an 18m pool, with recent upgrades to changing areas and sports hall surface.
Primary Objectives
* Manage the centre budgets effectively.
* Enhance financial performance and site usage.
* Ensure smooth operation for community benefit.
* Lead and develop staff to meet operational needs, fostering a dynamic team.
* Monitor performance through proper reporting.
* Improve the company's image and credibility.
* Maintain health and safety standards and promote safety culture.
* Secure new business opportunities proactively.
* Maintain high standards and customer satisfaction levels.
Focus Day-to-Day
* Oversee daily operations of the facilities.
* Achieve and surpass budget targets.
* Maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards.
* Develop programs to increase community engagement.
* Refine operational procedures continually.
* Implement quality assurance protocols.
* Build a motivated, well-trained team.
* Ensure health and safety policies are followed.
* Implement environmental policies.
The Person
* Over three years of managerial experience with proven KPI delivery.
* Ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
* Extensive knowledge of swimming pool operations and leisure industry standards.
* Leisure Management qualification preferred.
* Additional desirable qualifications: Health & Safety certifications, NPLQ, PPO.
* Respect from clients and teams, with strong leadership skills.
* Financial acumen and operational planning skills.
* Reliable decision-maker with excellent planning and time management.
* Proactive problem-solver and adaptable management style.
* Strong relationship-building skills with staff, clients, and the community.
