About the role

We're looking for a proactive and highly organised Construction Administrator to join our UKCS Scotland team, based at our Netherton Hub project in Peterhead. This role is central to keeping our project operations running smoothly, ensuring the site office is well‑managed, compliant, and fully supported.

As a key member of the project team, you will provide a broad range of administrative and secretarial support, helping to maintain high standards of efficiency, safety, and communication across the hub.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will support site and project teams through a variety of responsibilities, including:

* Delivering comprehensive general site administration to keep daily operations running efficiently.
* Providing secretarial support to the Construction Project Manager where required.
* Managing purchase requests and supporting cost control and commercial teams with on/off hire, materials deliveries, and person‑hour coordination.
* Taking accurate meeting minutes and maintaining high‑quality document control for both Construction and Quality teams.
* Ensuring the office environment remains safe, secure, and fully compliant with Health & Safety and security requirements.
* Monitoring and maintaining office equipment, arranging repairs with internal and external providers as needed.
* Working with Procurement to follow company-wide processes and secure best‑value supplier agreements.
* Supporting fatigue management administration and ensuring statutory and communication notices are always up to date.
* Assisting the Business Continuity Manager with preparation, testing, and activation of Business Continuity Plans.
* Upholding Balfour Beatty values, maintaining a strong focus on Zero Harm, and supporting wider sustainability activities.

Who we're looking for

We're seeking someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and confident working in a fast‑paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will bring:

* Experience working within a construction environment (desirable but strongly beneficial).
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage competing demands, and check the quality of outputs.
* Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels.
* Strong teamworking skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
* The ability to perform well under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
* A strong customer focus and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
* High‑level IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
