Overview
The Suffolk Therapeutic fostering team provides a county wide therapeutic support service to Suffolk foster carers. Alongside you there is a Lead Clinical Psychologist who will offer clinical support and advice to the team, other professionals and to foster carers as well as developing and delivering therapeutic courses and training days. You can expect to be an integral part of this multi-agency team working with social workers, course trainers and facilitators, and other family support practitioners and contribute to the therapeutic relationship between carers, children, and professionals. The team are a busy, friendly, and highly supportive team with lots of creativity and passion in the work we do to support children and families.

The post holder will have experience of working with a range of complex and challenging behaviours exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological treatment. You will be skills in use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management and possess well developed communication skills. You will be working closely with the already established psychological workforce in the service, as well as the senior leadership teams.

Responsibilities
* 2 days per week you will join the Suffolk Therapeutic Fostering team (STF) of multi-professionals providing training and consultations to foster carers in Suffolk.
* You will contribute to this busy team by supporting and training foster carers and Social Workers in therapeutic parenting techniques and sharing insights from up to date literature on areas such as Developmental Trauma and early attachment difficulties, contributing to the prevention of placement breakdowns in Foster care.
* You will provide Clinical supervision to some of the STF team and be part of the group training service offer.
* It is preferred that one of the days is a Wednesday as this is the day the whole team come together at their base in Saxon House, Hadleigh Road industrial estate, Ipswich.
