Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a great opportunity for a dedicated Driver Refueller to join our team at Stoke Gifford Train Maintenance Centre in Bristol.
Salary: £39,772
15% Shift allowance
£3,000 Location Allowance
Permanent contract
Accountabilities
In this role, you will be responsible for driving, replenishing, and servicing trains, as well as supporting maintenance staff with corrective and preventative maintenance of Hitachi rolling stock assets. This is a permanent position working on a rotating night shift basis only.
Specifically, your responsibilities include:
* Undertaking train movements under the control of the PIC (Person In Charge), driving trains within the Train Maintenance Centre.
* Servicing trains arriving from service, including replenishment of Diesel, Ad-Blu, fresh water for toilets and galleys, windscreen wash, and toilet system servicing.
* Recording all servicing and materials used in the maintenance management system (MMS).
* Monitoring the Maintenance Management System (SAP) to ensure accurate recording of all work.
* Performing daily checks of service equipment and maintaining cleanliness of the area.
* Reporting defects to the Refuelling Team Leader/Duty Shift Manager and recording them in MMS.
* Supporting maintenance staff with repairs, fault finding, and system development.
* Ensuring proper control and recording of fluid and material usage, including labelling and processing returned materials.
* Adhering to lean principles and best practices, including at other locations as necessary.
* Supporting the availability of trains for service as per contractual agreements.
About you
Required Skills/Knowledge
* Experience supporting maintenance teams in a modern rolling stock depot or similar environment.
* Safety awareness in railway operations.
* Understanding of safe systems of work.
* Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
* Experience with maintenance management systems (MMS) and trend analysis.
* Manual Handling, COSHH, working at height, and use of powered tools and plant (air/110v).
Education/Qualifications
* Engineering background knowledge is preferable.

* Experience operating refuelling points for rolling stock.
* Knowledge of Depot Protection systems.
