The role An Aviation Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of passengers, staff, and aircraft by inspecting passengers, baggage, and cargo for potential threats. They also operate security technology systems, enforce airport regulations, and respond to emergencies.
As Security Team Manager, you will oversee a diverse team of Aviation Security Officers (ASOs) within a large-scale, 24/7 operation at East Midlands Airport.
You will lead a team of up to 30 ASOs, delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced, regulated environment while balancing operational needs with the well-being of staff and customer service.
The role involves delivering a safe, effective, and compliant security operation across multiple locations, including terminal and airfield security, and collaborating with stakeholders such as DHL and UPS.
What will make you successful in the role? Experience in Aviation Security is preferred but not essential. Key requirements include experience in leading large, diverse teams, strong leadership, and people management skills. Experience in fast-paced operational environments such as retail, hospitality, or manufacturing will be advantageous.
You should possess excellent communication and engagement skills, with a proven ability to improve team performance through efficient practices and technology. Adaptability and a passion for making a difference are essential.
