Job Description
Position: Sales Associate (24 hours per week)
Location: TUMI Bicester Village Store, Unit 76, Village, Pingle Dr, Bicester OX26 6WD
Availability: November/December 2025
Main Tasks
* Introduce customers to the TUMI collection and provide expert advice.
* Deliver excellent customer service combined with sales skills and empathy for the traveling customer.
* Handle the operation and billing of the cash register conscientiously.
* Present high‑quality products in an inviting manner based on specified guidelines.
* Support internal events and promotions enthusiastically.
Requirements
* Initial professional experience in retail, preferably from the premium sector.
* Passion for selling premium products.
* Good understanding of English; additional language skills an advantage.
* Enthusiasm for TUMI products.
* Pleasant and open sales personality.
* Well‑groomed and professional appearance.
* Good Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Principal Accountabilities
Customer Service / Sales
* Offer advice and demonstration of TUMI products in a professional manner.
* Introduce selling benefits and product features.
* Maximise sales through product knowledge and add‑on sales.
* Be knowledgeable about store layout, products, and stock availability.
* Deal with customers in a friendly, polite, efficient manner.
* Handle complaints and phone queries tactfully.
* Process transactions efficiently and professionally following procedures.
* Be aware of after‑sales service, warranties and coverage areas.
* Maintain awareness of sales promotions, incentives and product brochures.
* Track sales figures, targets and bonuses daily/weekly/periodically.
Stock / Merchandising
* Process deliveries and report discrepancies efficiently.
* Keep backup stock and stockrooms organised.
* Know all products and selling benefits.
* Assist in layout and maintenance of displays.
* Read and act on relevant head‑office communications.
* Assist in stock counts as directed.
Security
* Act on and report security issues to management.
* Remain vigilant regarding stock and money to ensure compliance with procedures.
Housekeeping
* Maintain high standards at all times.
* Ensure daily cleaning of fixtures, fittings and stock.
Operations / Administrative Duties
* Handle telephone enquiries politely and efficiently.
* Communicate customer enquiries/orders to head‑office per procedures.
* Carry out stock and personnel administration as directed.
Attendance
* Report 10 minutes before shift start.
* Contact store when absent or late to arrange alternative.
* Speak directly to manager by telephone if unable to attend.
* Make up lost business time and discuss with manager.
* Attend training courses on time.
* Adhere to company attendance policy.
Appearance
* Maintain well‑groomed, neat, tidy appearance in line with dress policy.
Health & Safety
* Report accidents or hazards to management.
* Know health and safety manual and fire safety procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
* Perform duties of a similar nature as required and directed by management.
Skills Required
* Constant standing, bending, frequent lifting of luggage up to 15 kilos.
* Computer literate.
* Previous retail experience.
* Ability to work under pressure.
