Criminal Solicitor (Proceeds of Crime) / 4+ PQE / Leeds / circa GBP 65,000 (DOE)
Responsibilities
* An opportunity to join a specialist team focusing on proceeds of crime work within a national prosecution environment. You will be responsible for advising on and preparing complex cases involving asset restraint, confiscation and enforcement, often linked to serious and organised criminal activity.
* You will analyse large volumes of evidence, advise investigators and law enforcement agencies from an early stage, and make informed decisions on charging and case strategy.
* You will manage cases through all stages of the prosecution process, including drafting detailed legal documentation, advising on disclosure and evidential issues, and supporting advocacy in complex proceedings.
* You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including police forces, investigative bodies and international partners, often dealing with cross-border matters involving mutual legal assistance and asset recovery.
* You will contribute to case strategy, prepare briefing materials and ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with regulatory and procedural requirements.
Candidate
* Qualified Solicitor with strong experience in criminal law, ideally with exposure to proceeds of crime, asset recovery or complex financial investigations.
* Excellent analytical ability, strong drafting skills and the ability to manage complex casework involving significant volumes of material.
* Confident advising on evidential and procedural issues, with a sound understanding of criminal procedure and disclosure obligations.
* Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Experience of working with multiple agencies or on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters would be advantageous.
