An experienced Architectural Technologist / Technician is required to join a national AJ100 multidisciplinary architectural practice located at their Head Office in Wakefield.
Employing over 200 staff nationwide and recognised among the AJ100 practices in the UK, this well-established consultancy has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial architecture. Their diverse and award-winning portfolio includes both large and small-scale projects across sectors such as Retail, Residential, Leisure, Hospitality, Commercial and Distribution.
Working with a strong portfolio of national developers, main contractors and end users, the practice delivers projects across the UK from initial concept through to completion.
The Role – Architectural Technologist / Technician
This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Architectural Technologist or Technician with circa 5–10 years’ industry experience who is looking to take the next step within a highly respected architectural practice.
You will play a key role in the technical design and delivery of projects across a wide range of commercial sectors, working closely with senior technologists, architects, consultants and contractors throughout all RIBA work stages.
The successful candidate will have strong technical ability, proven Revit/BIM experience, and confidence coordinating projects through detailed design and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Produce detailed technical drawing packages and construction information
2. Lead and coordinate technical design work across multiple project stages
3. Develop and manage Revit/BIM models and technical documentation
4. Liaise closely with architects, consultants, contractors and clients
5. Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations and technical standards
6. Attend and contribute to project and design team meetings
7. Assist with site inspections, technical queries and construction-stage coordination
8. Support junior team members where required
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
9. Approximately 5–10 years’ experience within an architectural practice
10. Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
11. Strong working knowledge of Revit/BIM software
12. Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, technical detailing and construction methods
13. Experience delivering projects within commercial sectors would be advantageous
14. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is desirable
15. Excellent communication and coordination skills
16. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
