Graduate or Junior Ops Engineer
Quant Capital is urgently looking for a graduate Ops Engineer to join our high profile client.
Our client is a very well know retail ecommerce and data platform which improves pricing data on a massive scale.
I am looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated graduate/junior-level computer scientist, with a very strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, JSON and XML. The role is ideally suited to someone interested in working with & learning more about the latest technologies in a dynamic environment, dealing with data and services around the world. There are opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of other projects, and the possibility of career progression into team leadership and/or software engineering.
The Technical ops team to manage and maintain data collection processes, using a variety of custom-built tools, to ensure that data is flowing into a system 24/7. The ops team are also responsible for expanding the reach of the system by setting up data collection processes for new web sites, and to investigate customer-related issues escalated from clients.
Web sites and web technologies evolve at a rapid pace and the ops team are required to stay on top change in order to keep delivering a stable service. This requires creative problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude. This role offers a lot of flexibility and the ops team are encouraged to improve their own productivity by enhancing the internal toolset and driving innovation in the company.
On day to day basis the Technical Ops Engineer will:
* Work as part of the technical ops team
* Maintain, expand & improve data collection processes
* Evolve and adapt internal software
As a Junior or Graduate Ops Engineer you MUST have:
* Degree in comp sci or IT
* Strong technical understanding of web technologies & tools
* HTML, CSS
* Javascript, AJAX, JSON
* SQL server querying
* Ideally some Python or Scripting
* You will learn Node.JS
