Job Description
In this role you will lead the nine strong Financial Accounting Team within our Finance Shared Service Team. Your experience of management will enable you to motivate and develop the team - setting challenging annual objectives, supervising and reviewing performance, giving direction and coaching. You will lead by example in developing strong, collaborative relationships beyond Finance Shared Services and providing service excellence to both internal and external customers.
As a strong leader, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate monthly financial accounting for the Group’s trading entities in line with the overall group reporting timetable. Your experience as a financial accountant will enable you to review and monitor the work of your team, ensuring that it adheres to applicable reporting standards and PA Group policies. With deep financial accounting knowledge and experience in a multicurrency environment you will be the go-to person for technical and practical questions from your team. You will proactively investigate unusual transactions in conjunction with the Group Finance Team.
Your understanding of financial control will enable you to maintain a robust control environment in line with internal governance and external regulatory requirements. Keen to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and with experience of identifying and delivering change, you will design, document and implement process improvements wherever possible.
By collaborating with local accounting service providers and audit teams, you will ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements, including the identification and implementation of new regulations. You will track the progress of accounts preparation, audit and filing across the PA Group. Your excellent attention to detail will enable you to thoroughly review local financial statements, providing valuable feedback to your team.
As part of the wider Group and Financial Accounting Team you will own various processes for the Group month and quarter end reporting requirements, delivering these on time and accurately.
