As our Interim Senior Management Accountant, you’ll provide essential support to ensure we remain financially strong, well-governed, and able to invest in services and homes that make a genuine difference to people’s lives. About the role This is a hands-on, detail-focused position playing a key role in the smooth running of our Finance function. Working closely with the Head of Finance and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help maintain strong financial controls, deliver accurate reporting, and support core financial processes that keep the business moving. Key Responsibilities Financial Controls & Compliance Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Support audits and provide accurate information when required. Day-to-Day Finance Operations Prepare and post journals accurately and on time. Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving any queries efficiently. Assist with month-end and year-end processes to ensure timely and reliable reporting. Reporting & Analysis Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports. Provide clear, accurate financial information to support decision-making. Tax & Regulatory Support Contribute to VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Assist with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) reporting and respond to related queries. Team Support Provide flexible, ad-hoc support across the finance team as required. Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive consistency, accuracy, and continual improvement. Desirable Experience Experience in housing, construction, or development sectors. Practical knowledge of VAT and CIS processes. Understanding of financial systems, controls, and best practice standards. Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Skills & Attributes Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships. Confident user of Microsoft Excel and finance systems. Able to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
