About the Role
Assist in the delivery, development, and execution of a lively and engaging programme of activities and events across multiple National Trust properties, ensuring a memorable experience for all visitors and connection to the National Trust’s mission.
Responsibilities
The role involves:
* Planning and delivering programme activities on site.
* Maintaining high standards of presentation and clear, consistent communication with visitors.
* Linking all events and interactions back to the National Trust’s cause and ongoing conservation work.
* Providing excellent customer service in a busy outdoor environment, with occasional practical and physical work.
Qualifications & Skills
* Good communication skills and experience building relationships with a wide range of people.
* Team player, but capable of working independently.
* Adaptability and flexible approach to changing circumstances.
* Understanding of the importance of great service.
* Willingly keen to learn new things.
* Well organised and able to manage time effectively.
About the Locations
The role covers four National Trust properties: The Bateman's (Rudyard Kipling’s former home), Bodiam Castle (a 14th-century moated castle), Smallhythe Place (home of Victorian actress Dame Ellen Terry), and Lamb House (home of Henry James). All properties are part of the same passionate team.
Hours and Working Pattern
This is an hourly, fixed-term, zero-hour contract. You may work an average of three days a week, including weekends and public holidays, from 9 am to 5 pm, with flexibility to support busy periods.
