Day Service Assistant (Gateway) - Temporary
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for the delivery of day care to adults who have autism and complex learning disabilities, consistent with Social Work policies and procedures including assisting service users to meet their needs as detailed in their care plans in an autism focussed way which respects their dignity as individuals, maximising their levels of independence and promoting their inclusion within the wider community.
You must enjoy working with people who have autism and learning disabilities and have an understanding of their needs; be an effective communicator, showing a courteous manner to service users, carers, other professionals and agencies; be able to work on your own initiative, be honest and enthusiastic with the capacity to learn and apply new skills. You must be available to work flexibly as required.
Possession of a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care is desirable, while the commitment and capacity to achieve this qualification is essential.
A driving licence that allows you to drive a minibus is desirable.
You must be registered or willing to register with the SSSC or other appropriate Social Care Regulatory Body.
