Urgent Temporary Opportunity - Head of Finance (Education Sector)

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance from the education sector to step into a 4-week temporary assignment in West London to support a handover period within a well-established organisation.
This is an urgent requirement, so the successful candidate must be immediately available and already hold a valid DBS check.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure strong financial controls
Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
Monitor P&L performance and provide financial insights to senior leadership
Manage cash flow forecasting, purchase ledger, and supplier payments
Oversee payroll and pension processing
Manage VAT returns and statutory financial compliance
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Maintain and oversee financial systems such as Sage or similar platforms
Provide clear financial reporting to senior leadership during the transition period
Requirements
âś” Previous Head of Finance / Senior Finance leadership experience
âś” Experience within the education sector
âś” Strong technical accounting background
âś” Experience with management accounts, forecasting, and compliance
âś” Proficiency with financial systems such as Sage or Xero
âś” Advanced Excel skills
âś” Active DBS check (essential)
âś” Able to start week commencing 16th March
