Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Engineer to oversee and coordinate engineering projects within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in system design, mechanical knowledge, and automation, with the ability to lead technical teams effectively. Duties
* Lead the development and realisation of complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and standards.
* Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
* Utilise simulation tools such as Simulink and MATLAB to model and optimise system performance.
* Design, develop, and review schematics, CAD models, and technical drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
* Develop and programme control systems employing programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and utilise LabVIEW for data acquisition and control applications.
* Apply GD&T principles to ensure precise manufacturing tolerances and quality standards are met.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on system design, integration, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
* Provide technical guidance on mechanical aspects, including system design, component selection, and schematic interpretation.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices throughout all phases of project execution.
Requirements
* Proven experience in system design, with a strong understanding of mechanical principles and schematics interpretation.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and general familiarity with GD&T standards.
* Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
* Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis for complex technical issues.
* Knowledge of industrial automation systems, control systems integration, and process optimisation.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead a team effectively under tight deadlines.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining attention to detail.
