The Assistant Principal for Enrichment plays a pivotal role in shaping Pimlico Academy’s commitment to educating the whole child and ensuring that every pupil has access to a rich, varied, and purposeful school experience. This role is central to the Academy’s mission of supporting pupils to develop holistically through opportunities that nurture their character, passions, and personal growth. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the school, the post‑holder leads the design, coordination, and strategic development of the Academy’s enrichment provision. This includes overseeing a broad programme of activities and experiences that enable pupils to develop lifelong interests, wider skill sets, and increased engagement with school life. You will play a central part in ensuring that enrichment is not an add‑on but an integrated, high‑quality element of the student experience that supports the Academy’s wider educational aims. The successful candidate will take a data‑informed approach to understanding pupil engagement, monitoring trends in participation, progress through skills frameworks, and potential indicators of underperformance or disengagement. Using this insight, you will identify priorities, direct intervention, and ensure that enrichment opportunities are equitable, inclusive, and impactful for all learners—including underrepresented or vulnerable groups. A key responsibility of the role is the development and management of enrichment opportunities both within and beyond the school. This includes harnessing in‑school expertise and forging relationships with external partners to build a diverse, ambitious, and sustainable programme. You will also ensure that enrichment experiences enhance curriculum delivery, strengthen pupils’ understanding of academic content, and contribute meaningfully to their wider development. Quality assurance is an essential aspect of the position. The Assistant Principal will evaluate the effectiveness of enrichment, make judgements about its impact, and use evidence to refine and innovate the offer each year. You will also work closely with academic departments to help embed dual‑curriculum skills—ensuring that character development, leadership, and transferable competencies are aligned with the taught academic curriculum. As a senior leader, you will model the Academy’s ethos, values, and high expectations, contributing to the wider strategic leadership of the school. You will collaborate with the Principal and SLT on whole‑school improvement, quality assurance processes, and the development of a culture where enrichment, academic excellence, and personal development are interwoven to support exceptional outcomes for all pupils.
