Serco has an exciting opportunity to join their team as an Operations Administrator at the IFTC in Durham.
You will ensure that all operational aspects are managed and reported on in compliance with statutory obligations and Serco’s group standards. The post holder will work closely with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders to deliver a well-managed and compliant operation.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Providing dedicated operational administrative support to Technical IFTC management.
2. Uploading data to the central incident platform.
3. Monitoring and managing the review of Health and Safety assessments.
4. Maintaining and updating operational spreadsheets and online portals.
5. Proactively engaging within the fireground, motor transport, and facilities departments, liaising with suppliers and contractors, and understanding departmental aims and objectives.
6. Assisting in creating, reviewing, and updating IFTC Local Operating Procedures (LOPs).
7. Performing any ad-hoc duties as requested by the Head of Compliance & Technical Services.
Requirements:
1. Ability to approach workload systematically.
2. Proven experience in an administrative role.
3. Effective communication skills (spoken, written, behavioral).
4. Problem-solving skills.
5. Methodical, organized, and able to work under pressure.
6. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
7. Proficiency in PC and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
